چکیده

Abstract Background Patients using antiplatelet drugs following infarctions, acute coronary syndrome or stroke pose a significant clinical problem if it is necessary to perform surgery, including dental since they are at risk of prolonged secondary post-extraction bleeding. Discontinuation this therapy associated with high serious thromboembolic complications. The purpose study was assess the effectiveness TachoSil fibrin-collagen patches in stopping and preventing bleeding patients undergoing chronic therapy. Methods conducted through retrospective examination medical records 153 those qualified for tooth extraction. largest group comprised 74 aspirin clopidogrel as dual platelet antiaggregation therapy; 75 extractions were carried out. In all stiches applied wounds resulting from removal. Results Following extraction, primary stopped their closed via coagulation within 20–30 min. eight cases, accounting 4.9% patients, occurred successfully only by applying pressure dressing soaked tranexamic acid. Dental extraction in patients receiving dual antiplatelet therapy

BACKGROUND Dual antiplatelet therapy consists of administering antiplatelet (antiaggregant) drugs (clopidogrel and aspirin) to prevent thrombotic processes, as a preventative measure in patients with acute coronary disease, or in patients subjected to percutaneous coronary intervention. OBJECTIVE The purpose of this study was to evaluate the efficacy of a protocol for performing dental extrac...

Impact of high-responsiveness to dual antiplatelet therapy on bleeding complications in patients receiving drug-eluting stents.

BACKGROUND Few studies have examined whether high-responsiveness to antiplatelet therapy is associated with an increased risk of bleeding in patients receiving dual antiplatelet therapy. METHODS AND RESULTS Elective drug-eluting stent implantation was performed in 184 patients treated with aspirin and a thienopyridine (200 mg/day of ticlopidine or 75 mg/day of clopidogrel). The subjects were ...

Dual Antiplatelet Therapy (DAPT) versus No Antiplatelet Therapy and Incidence of Major Bleeding in Patients on Venoarterial Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation

AIMS Bleeding is a frequent complication in patients on venoarterial extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (VA-ECMO). An indication for dual antiplatelet therapy due to coronary stent implantation is present in a considerable number of these patients. The objective of this retrospective study was to evaluate if dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) significantly increases the high intrinsic bleeding r...
